Hanging Flat Canvas Panels
Clean the wall and the surface of the canvas panel with alcohol not water.
Hanging flat canvas panels. Does anyone have any super cheap ideas for hanging these. The only other thing i can come up with is a sort of display ledge made of moulding with a groove for the bottom edge of the canvas but i wanted to see if anyone else had other ideas. Follow graphics below to mark where the picture hooks will be placed. I m completely avoiding frames they re expensive add weight and throw off the proportions of my paintings.

2 buy stretcher bars from an art store or get a wooden frame. In this case the frame and backing were flush so i picked up some flat brackets from my local hardware shop. Tie a piece of yarn string or rope to the top dowel on either end so you can hang it on the wall. A simple way to frame a canvas panel is to use a floater frame.
If your canvas doesn t come with hardware or hanging wire attach two d rings with screws to both sides of the back of the canvas and add heavy duty wire. Mark measurement 2 height on the wall 7. The ampersand floater frame from blick art materials is the one that i use. For flat panels you want to choose the frame that s has a depth of 7 8.

Another thought was to make a rectangle of mdf board. It includes everything that you need to frame a canvas panel and it s more affordable than professional framing. Push pins might be a good option as well.
